Debra and Jim's Visit to St. Louis
Last week, Debra and Jim were in town for a Cass Gilbert "field" trip. (He designed the St. Louis Library and the St. Louis Art Museum).
Thursday
After a hearty breakfast prepared by Chef Gary, we toured the St. Louis' World Bird Sanctuary:
In the afternoon we toured the home that Scott Joplin lived in from 1900 - 1903. The best part was "playing" his songs on the player piano!
The next event was sitting in on a rehearsal of the St. Charles all-male choir, Ambassadors
of Harmony. Jim's cousin, Dan Phillips, is a member.
Friday
Took Jim and Debra on a tour of St. Louis neighborhood's, including Soulard, where we had a great breakfast at:
In the afternoon, we joined the Cass Gilbert group for the tour of the newly renovated St. Louis Library. The library was built in 1912 for $1.5 million and was renovated in 2012 for $75 million.

The next day we toured the Cass Gilbert-designed St. Louis Art Museum:
